I know it appears as though I have fallen off the face of the earth, but I promise I have not. It’s been such a crazy two weeks both business/shooting/processing wise, and personally. In Arizona, the busiest time of the year for those of us who shoot weddings and portraits is typically the fall, because our wedding season really kicks off in October when the rest of the country is slowing down or stopping all-together. So it can make for a work-aholic scenario for many of us, and I’ve been no exception.
The good thing is that between my associate photographer Jenny Bishop and I, we’ve had a ton of family holiday portrait sessions (and one more wedding) these last 2 weeks but the bad thing is that in the midst of all of it, my son Alex and I both came down with that flu bug going around. I tried to reason with the flu and convince him that it simply was not good timing and could he please stay away, but he didn’t listen. I know you parents know that when your baby is very sick, you typically get much less sleep, spend more time in the doctors office, and generally just feel terrible for them. I’d take sickness any day over my children being ill, but it’s kind of like a double-whammy when you are sick too and trying to take care of and comfort them. I was very thankful when my mother-in-law and sister-in-law came over to help one day!
At any rate, I think I’m starting to see the light at the end of this tunnel. I did even manage to get up part of my Christmas decorations on Sunday with the kids – success! So, Im going to try and get back on my regular blogging schedule, which is usually more frequent than it’s been lately. Sorry about that.
Without further ado, here are some images from one of my regular clients – the Sehnal family. I love photographing this fam! We are also working on a “Year in the Life” album for Kylie, their almost 1 year old daughter, for which this was our last of 4 sessions for the book. (I have another Year in the Life album to share, so I’ll post more details on that soon.)

Love, love, LOVE!

Ahhh, the biting stage from teething. Yes, it does HURT!
