What a great wedding to kick off my wedding season! Meredith and Stan tied the knot last weekend in what can mostly be described as a FUN wedding day. These two are clearly the best of friends, in that their ability to be silly and play with one another and just be themselves was evident all day. I don’t think I had to suggest many poses for them since they just played and laughed and interacted, making my job of just capturing all of that easy and fun. Their full mass marriage ceremony was at Brophy Chapel in downtown Phoenix, followed by their reception at The McCormick Ranch Golf Club in Scottsdale.

Adorable and wearable bridesmaid dresses (with pockets) purchased at Macy’s

Special thanks to my good friend Andy Andrews for second shooting with me. He was with the guys and photographed them getting ready and their bridal party images, so as soon as I get his images, I’ll post a few of those as well. Here are some of my favorites from the day. Lots!

The girls had to cut off Meredith’s shirt because she forgot to wear a button up before getting ready. Meredith laughed about it, and it made for cute pictures :-)

So gorgeous & timeless looking

All her bridesmaids were brunettes. Gorgeous ones at that!

This made me well up!

Stunning!

Meredith and Stan waited to see each other at the ceremony for the first time…

She reminds me of Angelina Jolie here

A few formals & relaxed candids around Brophy

And then we headed over to McCormick Ranch Golf Club for the reception and more portraits of the bride & groom

These two shots were taken at the same time, one right after the other. By shooting manually and underexposing the one below, I could capture the amazing sunset.

After we finished with Meredith & Stan’s picture time, it was basically dark out. We did a few formal and fun bridal party images…

Including this non-flash one pushing ISO 5000, in the near dark. And because jumping is fun.

Loved their fun and unique cake – gorgeous!

Sharing a dance, and a moment, with her Mom

And then, around 9 PM, Stan surprised Meredith and the entire reception with a fireworks display! It started to rain right at this moment, so Andy and I were out there in the pitch dark, trying to capture both the fireworks and the ambient light on the ground (which basically require two different types of exposures) so you could also see the crowd and their reactions. Turns out this is pretty tricky to do both, especially in the rain, and at lightening fast speed …

…But I was pretty happy with some of the captures.

Rain on the lens.

All in all, it was another great wedding! Thank you Meredith and Stan for being so fabulous to work with and so fun. I hope you are having an amazing time on your honeymoon :)
