This was a special wedding for me. All of my client’s weddings are special to me, but this one in particular because I feel like I’m officially a member of this family now. I first met Christy through her mom Barbara, whose wedding to Barry I photographed back in 2006 (on my super old first blog – wow, does that thing look dated now!) when Christy was still a teenager. LOVED Barb & Barry and her beautiful girls. Then a year later, they asked me to photograph Amy’s (Christy’s older sister) wedding to Jeremy and I had a blast being with their big clan again. And now, Christy’s beautiful wedding to Matthew – a full circle moment for me, especially considering that Amy was about 9.99 months pregnant with her and Jeremy’s first child, and I got the chance to meet their sweet Piper just 2 weeks later (her newborn images to come very soon!).
Christy and Matt had their wedding at the Four Seasons Resort in Scottsdale, which is such a beautiful venue. The fantastic Jennifer Thye with Imoni Events planned and executed the day with her signature grace and style. Here are some my favorites from the day…
In a very touching moment that even had me crying, Barb gave Christy a hankerchief from her recently passed grandfather to keep with her during the day. She wrote a poem to go along with it, especially for Christy.Then it was time to meet up with the boys and get some photos of them – handsome group!

And Christy looked gorgeous!
The ceremony – they decided to wait and see each other until then. (This works best photographically if you plan your ceremony early enough so there is still plenty of light afterwards for all the portraits – which Christy and Matt did thankfully.)
