I recently met the fun and gorgeous London family. Mom wanted lots of action shots since they are a very active and on-the-go family, so we played all around their beautiful home in Paradise Valley – and I think we accomplished our mission!

The boys. This might be one of my all time favorite family portraits now! This was one of Ian’s favorite things to do during our shoot, so the boys figured if you can’t get the finger out of the nose, then you may as well join the fun!

Intern Position Available

Jennifer Bowen Photography is seeking an intern!

Intern will provide assistance at portrait shoots and weddings with bags, lighting, holding gear and more. Occasional second-shooting opportunities may be possible eventually. Some knowledge of photography is necessary, however I will train you over time on shooting manually, using correct settings for the light, setting up off-camera flash, etc.

If you have any video editing software experience, that is a BIG plus.

Must Haves:

Responsible, dependable and reliable (you show up when you say you will and on time)
Motivated to learn and grow skills as a photographer
General knowledge of fundamentals of photography
Willing to work hard and do what is needed at weddings and shoots
Schedule that allow you to work evenings and weekends
Reliable transportation
Computer skills (you know how to navigate computer files systems, use general software
Sense of humor and positive disposition :-)

Skills or Experience that are a big plus:

Knowledge of Lightroom and/or Photoshop
Video editing software knowledge (can be as basic as a program such as iMovie on Mac)
Experience with 5D Mark II video capabilities of similar HD camera

This intern position is initially not paid, however it could grow into a paid position within 6 months depending on performance. However, you will gain knowledge and experience about working at weddings and on photo shoots, working with clients, shooting manually and much more.

The beautiful Ferguson family followed right after the Frazier family (below) with their own ah-dor-a-ble little guy! It’s been the month of happy, smiley babies for me – which melts my heart and brings me joy. :-)

Do you remember Elissa & Ryan? I knew back when they got married that one day they would make beautiful babies, but little man K is even cuter than I could have imagined, PLUS he’s so happy and joyful too boot! It was so wonderful to catch up with them recently for a mini portrait session in Scottsdale. I love, love, LOVE continuing to see my former wedding couples have babies and grow their families!

I’m slapping my own hand for being such a lousy blogger lately! We have been so busy over here working hard for clients first and foremost. I’m also working on being a more present and engaged Mama to my kiddos, who are growing at the speed of light, so with those two things happening simultaneously, the blogging has taken the backseat a bit lately. I apologize loyal blog readers. It’s just a stage… I’m sure I’ll come back through stronger than ever :-)

I love it when my clients grow their families and ask me over to photograph their expanding clan. In this case, baby Cash — adorable baby Cash — was a total peach to photograph.

I was going to link to their previous family shoot on my blog, but I was shocked to see that I didn’t upload it (and several others — it must have been during the crazy holiday season), so I’ll post a few pictures of their family sessions before Cash arrived, which include adorable big sister Emerson. :)

Spencer’s Year in the Life Album

I wanted to share a few images from Spencer’s completed album from his Year in the Life sessions we did to chronicle his first year. I love how his album came out!

My Year in the Life Package includes 4 sessions spaced throughout the year to follow the growth, development and changes of a little one (and often include the pregnancy images as well) and a beautiful custom designed album to showcase all of your favorites from the year. What a perfect way to preserve that first year that goes so fast and is so fleeting. Now, if I can just complete albums for my own kids… :-)
