Holiday cards are here!

As we mentioned a couple posts below, we are offering holiday mini sessions this year with a $25 credit that can be applied towards the cost of holiday cards. The beautiful thing about these cards is that, aside from the the turn around time being quick, they are beautiful, custom designed for you, and easy. All you have to do is address the envelopes! Why shop for cards where you have to attach the photo or bows? (Unless of course you do have the time and desire for that.)

We also offer several different paper options (prices vary), so when ordering your cards, please inquire and we’ll suggest what might work best for your budget and style.

Here are some of the details:

• The cards come in packs of 25 and are priced per pack. We do offer volume discounts for more than 100 cards, if ordered at the same time.
• Paper stocks are heavy weight and come in smooth, linen, pearlescent (heaviest weight option), fine art watercolor, or UV coated.
• The cards come with matching white envelopes.
• All cards below are shown in a 5×7 format, however any card can be retrofitted to a more custom size, such as 4×5 or 5×5.
• Any flat postcard style cards can be customized into a folded card format
• All colors, text and fonts are customizable
• They are printed by my professional photo lab, so quality is guaranteed
• Pricing starts at $68.50 per pack for flat cards and $98.50 per pack for folded cards

Back in 2007, I had the honor of photographing Julie & Dave’s wedding on lucky 7/7/7 only then to photograph Julie’s brother Clint’s wedding to Lisa that November. They were both such fantastic couples to work with so I was thrilled when Clint and Julie’s mom Becky emailed to say that Julie and Dave were in town and she wanted to get some family photos of her new grandbabies! Both couples have recently welcomed newborn sons; Nolan is 2 months and Jack is 5 months. And how cute are they?!

I had the pleasure to shoot Sandy and John’s wedding last weekend at The Four Seasons in north Scottsdale. They live in New York City, so this was a destination wedding for them and most of their family members. And I think we lucked out with the weather. It poured rain all day on Saturday and their wedding was Sunday, where we were initially supposed to have more rain, but the skies remained clear and sunny all day. Yeah for Sandy and John’s good luck!

They had an intimate ceremony and reception shared with those they love the most. Sandy said they are big lovers of great food, and they did have some super tasty stations going on! Tapas, amazing tacos (perhaps the best I have ever had), a pasta bar, and a martini bar – delish!

One of my favorite parts of the day is right after couples are officially married. Sandy says, “Oh my gosh, we are married!”

Here they come, all the posts I have been holding for the new blog… Check out this adorable face! Seven month old Lucy was so full of personality and laughter that she was a complete & utter joy to photograph. A few favs:

Nope, I didn’t give birth to a third baby (nor am I pregnant for the record!), but I am happy to announce the third incarnation of this baby. My blog-baby. Who just keeps growing up on me.

And this time, as you can see, we’ve got a whole new branding look. I guess I got a little bored with the old brand, even though she was very kind to me through the years. My old logo was the beginning of where I’m at today. She saw me from that hobbyist-turned-freelancer stage where I worked on nights and weekends on top of the corporate day job, learning and absorbing and shooting anything I could. Through the growth spurts and learning curves. Through the busy spells and late nights and that discussion in late ‘05 with my husband: “Do I take the leap and go full time?” (I did leap in ‘06 and never looked back). The old brand saw me through my first child, my now 4-1/2 year old daughter Jordan and more late nights. Just when I had figured out the work/family balancing act, or so I thought, our sweet baby Alex, now 7 months, arrived and threw a monkey wrench (a good wrench I might add) into my balancing act. And there she was all the while –my trusty old brand — ushering me through all that as well. (Oh, and more late nights.)

So here we are getting into a new groove again as a family, and me a business-owning Mom. Most days I feel like it’s falling into place again; the balance thing. Although if I’m being honest, some days don’t feel very balanced at all. It’s a new chapter in my life in many respects and I’ve been ready for a change; a new look, a new logo.

And here she is. Slightly refreshed. Maybe a little wiser. Green for my favorite color, for the way it makes me feel. To liven things up a little bit. And in addition to the new blog design and overhaul of backend functionality (for me), you will also see several new features to this blog. More categories, featured vendors, more resources and easier commenting functionality. We love to hear from you readers (and lurkers!) out there, so please do say hi, ask a question or leave a comment. Now it’s even easier for me to respond.

** The all new website design is coming very soon. It turned out to be rather difficult to coordinate the synchronous launch of both web and bog, so I decided to allow myself to sleep at night by rolling it out in 2 stages. Blog first. All new website next. (Note: the ‘current’ website looks pretty darn good re-skinned in the new branding if I must say so myself.)

** We have an updated newsletter with some fun tips and promotions for current clients. Look for it soon!

**We will have new packaging (some of it earth-friendly ‘green’), an all new backend proofing system where weddings and portraits will be in one place and I think much easier for clients to use, all new marketing materials, new contests and so much more.

**And did I mention that I hired a fantastic new studio assistant? Kelly Gill (many industry peeps already know how awesome she is) is helping get things organized, processed and in place for our busy fall season ahead. I’m so excited to have her on my team!

**We also have several weddings and shoots on the books this fall that I am really looking forward to, in addition to some new fun contests, so please stay tuned. I can’t wait to keep sharing all the goodness with you!
