I'm selling my Canon 30D camera body. This excellent camera has been a reliable and great backup camera to my 5D for the past year. It is only 1 year old and in mint condition. Since my 5D has been my primary camera, I don't use this too often, though it has seen every wedding this year since I'm a 2-camera wedding shooter. It comes in the original packaging and with all the items that came with it: body, battery, strap, cap, manual, and battery charger. This camera does NOT come with a lens. (The box has been cut so I could take advantage of a rebate offer). You can read all the technical specs about this camera here. $850 oboI'm also selling the battery grip which you see pictured here. This Canon BG-E2 grip works with the Canon 30D OR 20D cameras (and may work with the 40D, I'm not certain on that).$125 for the grip. If you want both, please make me an offer. The battery grip will not come with any batteries. Extra batteries can be purchased at any electronics store or online at places like http://www.bhphoto.com/ Labels: NEWS, RESOURCES
Here are some pictures from another recent holiday portrait session. Bob, Page and Trevor are wonderful and we had a quick and fun session early last week. First we just let Trevor play and do his thing... the best approach with toddlers!

Then Daddy got in the mix...
Then we moved out front and played "chase the toddler in the chair"
 Gotcha!

I think if it were me, this next one would be my holiday card :-)
Some Mommy time

And family time

Another Thanksgiving has arrived in record time. Why is it every year goes faster than the one before? This year we were in Pinetop for exactly 30 hours of family time and turkey before heading back down to Phoenix so I can shoot two weddings tomorrow and Saturday. Jordan is opting to stay at Grandma's house (err, The Princess Resort & Spa) through the weekend and I can't say I blame her. Why wouldn't she choose unabashed freedom, lots of sugar, sleeping in Grandma's bed, and cousin Sierra over Mom and Dad's less fun daily routine. With a lot less sugar.
My Mom is now saying, "Where can I find this little thing!?" Since it's the holiday to pronounce gratefulness out loud (really, we should be expressing those things we are thankful for every single day), I am also extremely thankful for my husband and daughter, our families, our health, our businesses, our friendships, and our resilience. And that the bloody heat has finally broken in Phoenix. Sheesh. I'm thankful for little moments like this too.
I am also incredibly thankful for my clients. I have met so many wonderful people via this business and I often feel this sense of connection to many of you because you allow me to share in your intimate moments, important memories and indescribable joys. I see your tears, your laughter, your kisses, your love, and often, some of the true essence of who you are. I don't take any of that lightly, and you all have left an impression on me in some way.
I am extremely grateful for all of the wonderful emails and voicemails that you have left me this year sharing your appreciation. Sometimes you are literally crying with thanks, and I tear up right along with you because it means the world that I get to capture these moments and that you appreciate the work so much. Sometimes you send me hilarious emails... one couple recently pronounced me the proud owner of their first (yet to be born) child after watching their wedding slideshow, and yet another wrote after watching their family slideshow "OH MY GOD, WE ARE IN LOVE WITH OURSELVES!" That one had me laughing out loud for some time. Recently, a couple of you sent me iTunes gift cards (after seeing my iPod post awhile back) and one of you just made me a cd of mixed tunes. How cool is that!
Most clients don't comment on the blog and that is okay by me... you send me your heartfelt thanks in touching notes, email and voicemails and I appreciate all of your words. Happy Thanksgiving!
I couldn't resist. My niece Sierra came bouncing into the house this morning in this little ensemble. She is like this adorable little golfer-meets-English-rider. Labels: PERSONAL

I was honored to see the November/December 2007 edition of The Wedding Chronicle featured Lindsay and Eric's wedding at Sassi as one of their selections for "Most Beautiful Weddings of the Year." Their wedding was indeed so beautiful to me too, and also one of the most fun I have ever shot. Lots of laughter, love, great dancing, a beautiful and nice couple, and wonderful friends and family who surrounded them on their day. It's a pleasure to re-live it! Click here to see their wedding slideshow. The Wedding Chronicle is a great (and free!) resource for couples getting married and is available each month at many area boutiques, bridal shows, salons, grocery stores such as AJ's.

I took Jordan to the Desert Botanical Garden to see the annual butterfly exhibit last week. I also took my macro lens to try and grab some super close up shots. I love this lens and use it at every wedding to capture details, for lots of tight shots of baby hands and feet, and for personal things like this. Jordan was very into the butterflies for the first 10 minutes and then was more happy to build "castles" in the dirt while Mom took a few more pictures. Incidental factoid: I learned that Monarch butterflies take 3-4 generations to make a full round trip migration to their refuges down in Mexico where they all head in the fall and winter and then back up again. They ride the winds down, similar to birds, but it just takes several more generations to complete the migration. Here are a few shots... Close up of a cacti.Labels: PERSONAL
This post is mega-late, but what can I say, it's been super crazy! Thank goodness for these two, who are helping to keep me above water and giving me a little time to still see my family this fall. Both Katie and Rachel joined the team on a part time basis about a month ago and I've been meaning to properly introduce them since that time. Better late then never...
Katie (left) is helping with many different aspects and I am extraordinarily thankful for her. She helps process & package the portrait orders, initially edit the shoots, make back-ups, follow up with clients, manage our new database and studio management software by Shoot-Q, and a whole slew of other things to help run the business. I can't say enough about her .... did I already say how great she is doing?Rachel (right) has been a client (I photographed her wedding a few years ago and then her baby Ava came along so we've been following her progress as well) and she is just awesome! She is helping me produce albums and is doing great. I told her that if she wanted to make this a long-term career, she could probably have tons of photography clients as the majority of us outsource aspects such as this to others. But for now I want to keep her all mine! :)I'm so glad to have you both!Labels: NEWS
Lisa and Clint had a beautiful wedding last weekend! They started the day at the Hotel Valley Ho in Scottsdale, which is just a great place for photographs. I really loved this hotel, because there is so much great light and different colors inside the rooms and the lobby and around the grounds in general, so we captured some really beautiful images. Lisa and Clint both got ready there with their wedding party before we all headed over to the Brophy Chapel in downtown Phoenix for their ceremony. After the ceremony and picture time, Lisa's sister and future brother-in-law surprised the newlyweds with a gorgeous vintage Bentley to take them to their reception at the Desert Botanical Garden. You don't see cars like this very often, so I think this was as much a treat for me photographically as it was for them to ride in. :-)Lisa and Clint are very calm natured, so the whole day really seemed to flow well. You may remember them from Julie and Dave's wedding this past July -- Clint is Julie's brother -- so it was wonderful to see so many familiar faces again. Lisa is also one of the most organized brides I've worked with, which was great for me as we stayed right on schedule most of the day, so it really went well. I thought she looked like a bride out of a magazine! A few of the more "formal" portraits with the bridal party. When we arrived at Desert Botanical Garden, it was pretty much dark, so we played under the light a little.
Their beautiful reception site. I loved this shot from their first dance. They have such a natural and beautiful chemistry between them. Lisa and her Dad during their dance together. Thank you Lisa and Clint. You both were an absolute joy to work with and it was wonderful to share your day!

I had a fun engagement session with Julie and Dan recently. At one point we all managed to get the "church giggles" and couldn't stop laughing. They are getting married next April and it is pretty clear they have an obvious chemistry between them. Julie designs her own line of beautiful jewelry and in fact made me a necklace that I always wear now and get tons of compliments on. Thanks for such a fun time Julie and Dan! This next one is my favorite. I love this. Labels: ENGAGEMENTS
