We are officially booked up for the holiday portrait season! I have started a waiting list and will let you know on a first come, first serve basis if any slots open up. Please email me if you would like to be added to the waiting list.
The 2007 Schedule: This year, due to my heavy wedding season, I'm only doing a handful of sessions. Most of these will be 40-45 minute "mini-sessions" planned for certain days, so be sure to book your space now if you are interested in a session. These mini sessions will start at $200 for families smaller than six. For specific pricing for your larger family, please inquire. Holiday cards are also available again this year (see blog post below). These were a big hit (and time saver!) for last years clients, so please let us know if you are interested. They are custom designed and printed on 5x7 heavily weighted card stock (with matching envelopes) through our professional lab and take about 1 week to turn around.
2007 Holiday Portrait Sessions (remaining) Schedule: Friday, November 2 - 4:00-5:15 BOOKED (Seeley)
Saturday, November 3 - 2:45-3:30 PM BOOKED (Hiland) / 3:30-4:15 PM BOOKED (Poston) / 4:15-5:15 PM BOOKED (Mandel)

For any dates after December 1, please inquire for availabilty. Because of the rush turnaround for the holidays, any sessions booked between Sun, Dec 2 - Sat, Dec 8 start at $400 per session. No holiday sessions will be booked after December 8th. The studio will be closed December 20-31st for the holidays and vacation. The normal portrait schedule will resume in January.

I'm a bit behind on posts and have been meaning to get this one up for awhile now (along with my introduction of Katie and Rachel -- two new additons to the team that are helping bring some sanity back to me! More on that very soon....) So after my holiday cards were a fairly big hit last year, I knew I had to bring them back again this year. I had a great wedding yesterday at The Boulders, but Sunday's are typically family day and not a work day for me (this is only a recent change I've made since you can usually find me sitting at this computer 10 hours a day processing photos if I'm not out shooting, so I've desperately needed to implement one off day a week to maintain any sense of balance whatsoever)... so I won't get started processing it until this week. But here are a few very recent shots of our sweet love bug, who is becoming quite the little spunky one lately and is starting to like the camera more. I cant believe she is already 2-1/2... I'm still here! It's just been super busy the past week and I've been up and down from the Internet world due to the fact that I needed a computer upgrade to handle all these new CS3 programs. So now I've got a mega Core 2 Quad Processor with like 700 Gigs of hard drive space (in addition to the 3 external drives I have totalling more than 1000 Gigs)... which runs lightening fast. I didn't know Lightroom could operate that quickly! :-) Wow, it takes a lot of space to run a photography business! But I'm nearly all set up now and back online 100%Anyway, I digress...Here are a few shots of Gretchen, who I had the pleasure of meeting a couple weeks ago when we did her pregnancy session. She and her husband Leonard are expecting a baby boy in a few weeks, whom I'll also have the pleasure of meeting soon after he arrives. Stefani and Garret's wedding is coming up next... stay tuned!Labels: PORTRAITS
I'm mourning today. Last night I drowned my iPod.
This iPod was a bit special to me because I won it at a corporate seminar about 3 1/2 years ago. Its the only thing I have ever won in my life and it really made the seminar a much better experience. It's been a steady companion since. Airplane rides, workouts, car trips, home music shuffles, hotel rooms, you name it, its been there with me.
Then, last night I was in need of a little relaxation with music. I love music and I especially love it filling my ears with relaxing sounds. So I took the iPod to a bath with me and it did the trick and helped me wind down for the night. (Though the thought did cross my mind that I might be taking a risk here.)
I guess it relaxed me too much, because I somehow forgot that I still had it on and reached forward to pull the plug out, pulling it right in behind me. It still played for about 1.6 seconds before.... nothingness. It drowned a quick death. I'm still bummed today about this loss.
So now I'm trying to figure out my next iPod play. My first thought was: well, perhaps its time to move to the iPhone. I wasn't planning to buy one before Christmas time, but perhaps the time has come.
Here is a question for all you iPhoner's out there... is there enough space on the phone for your thousands of songs as well? Or do you still have separate iPods? Let me know if you have suggestions on how I should replace this dear friend of mine.
R.I.P. my old friend. Labels: PERSONAL
Jennifer and Nathan got married this past weekend at Troon North Golf Club in Scottsdale. It was a positively beautiful day. The sky was deep blue, the weather a little cooler, and we had a very soft breeze for the ceremony and evening -- perfection! And, I dont think I have ever had a more calm bride than Jennifer. Now I am lucky in that the vast majority of my brides are very cool women, and they bring that same sense of calm collect'dness (I know its not a word, but it should be!) with them on their wedding days -- albiet the butterflies and quiet nervousness -- but Jen was the essence of peaceful grace with no nervousness! She was just happy the entire day. She and Nathan planned a smaller wedding and kept it intimate with close friends and family. Erini Macrides, the director of catering, was very hands on and really went out of her way to make the day special for Jen & Nathan. Little touches like champagne and finger food during the prep time were a nice addition for the bride and groom, and one of the banquet servers actually walked through sprinklers to bring champagne to them during our bride & groom picture taking time. Now that is service! It was wonderful to share their wedding day with them. Here are few images from their day... The pretty details. Jen's colors were green and brown, so The Bloom Room did a beautiful job of arranging variations of green and deep burgundy flowers. You know how I love shoes! The final touches for Jen ... and Nathan's best man Scott gathering up the rings before the ceremony. I loved Alex (below)- Jen's nephew! He and his sister were so adorable and happy all day - and they both liked to mug for the camera. Jennifer's father passed away four years ago, so she carried his picture with her all day in a locket on her bouquet.
One of my favorite moments, when Alex accidentally dropped his ring bearer pillow during the ceremony. He was very concerned about not disrupting the service, but I dont think Jen and Nathan were even aware any of this was happening. He timed it perfectly and sat down just before the kiss. Way to go Alex! A few bride and groom portraits during the last light of evening A final shot at Sunset Pointe before the reception I loved their chocolate & green cake! Beautiful and so unique. I really like this shot despite the fact that the shutter speed was too slow. But I think that gives it a little magic.

Jen's grandparents were amazing! They have been married 62 years and danced the night away. I talked to Grandpa for a while and he told me the secret to a successful, long-term marriage is to kiss your love each morning when you wake up and before you go to bed each night. I found them so inspiring and adorable. They genuinely seemed as in love and affectionate today as they likely were 60 years ago. Actually, I'm sure it's much deeper now given all that time.
I think this moment says it all.
Thank you for sharing your day with me Jen & Nathan. I hope you are having a blast in Hawaii!
